Replacement , Specimen , Radar Banknotes​

Replacement World Banknotes : When banknotes are printed by the issuing authority , at the the end of printing there is a quality control . In this control there are rarely some banknotes comes up with defects. These defective notes are taken out of the bundle and they are replaced with another banknote which is called Replacement Banknote. Replacement Banknotes are only printed for this purpose and at the end the quantity of the printing stays same . Replacement Banknotes are mentioned differently in many countries. While some countries puts a Star icon near serial numbers , some countries uses prefix Z , ZZ , X , 99 , R generally . Some collectors are making Replacement Banknotes collections . As the quantity of the replacement banknotes are low , the prices are much higher according to the normal price of the banknote. Sometimes surprisingly high prices can be seen on Replacements according to replacements used in all printing . 

Specimen World Banknotes : Some collectors are making collection of Specimen Banknotes. A Specimen Banknote is printed in very limited quantity. They are printed to distribute the banknote to the other central banks . Sometimes specimen banknotes are also sent to commercial banks , enterprises or to the public. The reason is of this is to familarize the users about the new banknote going to be used. Some of the countries sell Specimen Banknotes to collectors in sets. They can not be used as a legal tender because they generally are overprinted or punched with ” Specimen , Cancelled , Specimen No value ” terms. As a collector you should know that while some specimen banknotes worths more then the banknote and some of them worths less then the banknote. It means that , there is no rule that every specimen banknote will be more valuable then the banknote itself . So you should be careful about the rarity . Specimen or Cancelled terms on the specimen banknotes can also be written in different languages and different types. 

Radar Banknotes : This is also a popular collection theme between collectors. A radar banknote is a note that, When you read the serial number of the banknote from the beginning or from the end , it should be the same . As an example 321123 is a radar banknote . You should keep in mind that if the banknote has a 5 digit serial number radar like 12621 then you will find 1 radar banknote in every 100 piece. So it will be easy to find that radar in the market . But when you imagine a  radar banknote with 9 digit serial like 123484321, you should just find 1 Radar banknote in every 10.000 piece.  So the value of the radars should be considered with their serial numbers . I also would like to add that the printing quantity also is important on the value of the radar banknotes.
